Accessibility is part of the brief

Treat accessibility as part of the original specification, not as a remediation effort before review. WCAG 2.2 AA is the realistic target for most publicly funded project websites.

Where teams usually fall short

  • Low-contrast colour palettes
  • Missing focus states
  • Inaccessible PDFs uploaded as deliverables
  • Forms that cannot be completed with a keyboard
